Sep 6, The evolution of Destiny , like that of many long-term online service games, has been a veritable saga. At the same time, of course, Destiny 2 has to relish and reward the relationships that existing players have built with the franchise over the past three years. The first 20 hours: September 5, – by Samit Sarkar Catering to newcomers and veterans alike is a tough balancing act. Some longtime players are still mad that all their existing gear, which they earned over dozens or hundreds of hours with Destiny, is gone — narrative justification be damned. But that may all end up as water under the bridge. Perhaps the highest compliment I can pay to Destiny 2 is that it makes its predecessor seem even worse in hindsight. During my playtime, I repeatedly found myself wondering how I had ever put up with all the nonsense in Destiny. Because most of it is gone in Destiny 2.
Tweet Bungie is discussing the possibility of adding matchmaking to Destiny’s raids. Currently, players can only attempt Destiny’s first raid, The Vault of Glass, by joining a pre-made six-player group. The decision not to allow random matchmaking was made due to the content’s difficulty, said Bungie. The developer wanted groups of friends to attempt to tackle the content together. However, that restriction means very few players are able to access the content, regardless of whether they have the requisite skill, level, time, or willingness.
It’s still early days, but currently only 4.
Since the launch of Destiny, Bungie has revealed their first raid to players called “The Vault of Glass” which has proved to be very challenging. However, to players surprise there was no “Raid Matchmaking” option available and you had to assemble your own team.
Random Article Blend Destiny players have been asking Bungie for two big changes to matchmaking. The studio addressed both suggestions in their weekly update. The most complex, challenging content in the game is Vault of Glass , a six-player raid. Unfortunately, it’s a bit hard to actually venture into the Vault because there’s no matchmaking system in place. Bungie is sympathetic to players who wish they could be automatically teamed up with strangers.
Yet, we understand its limitations. In the recipe of a Bungie game, Matchmaking has always contributed the ingredient of a team built to play one match of competitive multiplayer. They designed Vault of Glass with tight-knit, coordinated groups in mind. However, some of the players who cleared Vault didn’t fit that description. Keep sounding off about it, and maybe someday some matchmade Fireteam mates will hear you, too.
They don’t want players to get matched up with random idiots and then find themselves wiping over and over in raids. However, the only way players will get better at raids is by doing them.

Vault of Glass is a high-level challenge designed to be tackled by a team of six players. Some of them will have brand-new abilities. The rewards for overcoming these challenges are handsome, though. Players can earn a new set of high-level gear as well as crafting materials. Don’t expect to get everything you need all in just one clear, though.
Vault Of Glass can be found on Venus. Not everyone can enter the Vault. Your character needs to be at least Level 26 to tackle this raid.

Then again, some of them even went the other direction! I suspect this was to minimize how much the changes to the Seer spec would affect the DPS specs. Benevolence went down in cost, and so did Force Armor—spectacularly so! So did—I kid you not—Wandering Mend. Note that even though I listed the base cost as 63, the practical value is actually 53 due to the Erudite Mender passive you get at L But my overall point here is this:

And I did not survive. Playing the only Raid currently available for Destiny is a lot like picking up an entirely new game. You’ll need four or five high-rank friends to successfully enter the Vault. You begin with a simple enough task: It took me and my five fireteam members I woke at 7 a. Sunday to play with gamers halfway across the world, where it was 11 p. There are three zones you need to control against a wave of level Vex enemies, and losing one of them for even a second can derail up to four minutes of solid control.
It took our team about five playthroughs to figure this out, then another six or seven to completely wipe out the oracles. Expect a ton of high-level enemies gunning for you. We were derailed when we finally fought the underboss, a Hydra whose impermeable shield will only drop if a player hits him with a blast from a shield relic that must be charged. At the same time, oracles are still marking you for death and there are enough Vex harpies flying overhead to make you crave open airspace.
